Secure Beamforming for IRS-Enhanced NOMA Networks

Owing to the increasing demand of higher spectrum efficiency and large-scale connectivity, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) has become a highly competitive candidate for upcoming sixth-generation (6G) systems. Nevertheless, instable wireless propagation environment potential security risk bottlenecks in applications NOMA. Fortunately, intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) that can construct three-dimensional beamforming reconfigure channels emerges as efficient technology break through limitations Thus, this article, we first present an overview NOMA, particularly illustrate its main shortcomings risks. Then, introduce IRS provide further enhancement by applying NOMA networks. In addition, typical threats IRS-NOMA networks are shown, followed two countermeasures based on joint transmit toward external internal eavesdropping, respectively. Simulation results carried out demonstrate feasibility effectiveness these schemes. Several challenges future directions also discussed.
